Periaxin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PRX gene.
The PRX gene encodes L- and S-periaxin, proteins of myelinating Schwann cells, and is mutated in Dejerine–Sottas syndrome and Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease type 4F.
