Olde Park Hotel
The Olde Park Hotel is a bed and breakfast and tourist attraction located in Ballinger, Texas. Today's the Olde Park Hotel has seen various uses such as a schoolhouse, saloon, and hotel over its history but is today a bed and breakfast and event venue owned by the LaFave family.
History
The Olde Park Hotel, standing where it has since before Ballinger existed, was built as a bunkhouse for railroad workers, but was sold in an auction in July 1886.In the hotel's life, it has been a schoolhouse, a hotel, and a saloon.
The LaFave family owned the building for several years, which led to the building falling into disrepair. On top of the spirits which call the building home, several animals made their way into the building and called it home during the LaFave ownership. While the LaFave's helped to garner the building quite a bit of notoriety during their time owning the building, ultimately, the LaFave family lost favor in the public eye for several shady dealings at the hotel, on top of the general lack up upkeep to the building which led to them putting the building up for sale in late 2024.
In 2025, Chad and Leslie Wandel, the founders of the paranormal research team Ghost Geeks, bought the hotel to restore it to its original condition.
