Ochiai was a town located in Maniwa District, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.

Population

As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 15,652 and a density of 105.81 persons per km2. The total area was 147.92 km2.

Merge

On March 31, 2005, Ochiai, along with the town of Hokubō, and towns of Katsuyama, Kuse and Yubara, and the villages of Chūka, Kawakami, Mikamo and Yatsuka were merged to create the city of Maniwa.
