The station opened on 1 September 1927 on the Shigiikoma Electric Railway. From 1935-1937 the station was named Shin-Ikoma Station. The Shigiikoma Electric Railway was acquired by Kintetsu in 1964, becoming the Kintetsu Ikoma Line.Passenger statistics
