NGC 7177

NGC7177 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation of Pegasus. Its velocity with respect to the cosmic microwave background is, which corresponds to a Hubble distance of. However, 12 non-redshift measurements give a much farther distance of. It was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel on 15 October 1784.
The SIMBAD database lists NGC7177 as a LINER galaxy, i.e. a galaxy whose nucleus has an emission spectrum characterized by broad lines of weakly ionized atoms.
