NGC 5009
NGC 5009 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Canes Venatici. It was discovered on 26 September 1900 by the American astronomer DeLisle Stewart. NGC 5009 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the Northern Hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 15.6, NGC 5009 is invisible to the naked eye and only visible through long exposure photography.
