History
Professional hockey in Mobile dates back to the Mobile Mysticks, who competed in the East Coast Hockey League from 1995 to 2002 before ceasing operations and relocating. After more than two decades without a professional team, the SPHL Board of Governors unanimously approved an expansion franchise for Mobile on September 17, 2025.The newly established franchise is expected to debut in October 2027, coinciding with the opening of the Mobile Arena. As part of its launch, the franchise has invited fans and residents to participate in selecting the team’s official name, colors, and mascot through an online contest.
