Military Administration (Nazi Germany)
During World War II, German forces set up military-led regimes in occupied territories which were known as a Military administration or Military administration authority. These differed from Reichskommissariate which were led by Nazi Party officials. A Military administration was normally led by a "military commander".
Ranks
Officials of the Military administration, regardless of service in the Wehrmacht, war economy, military education facilities, or in the military-led regimes in occupied territories, wore military rank insignias similar to those of the Wehrmacht. These were characterised by the main corps colour dark green, and various secondary colours as well.Here are a select few of the ranks in the Military administration:
- General-senior-staff intendant ; corps colour "deep red" to army officials with general officer rank
- Ministerial director ; corps colour "deep red" to army officials with general officer rank
- Corps´ intendant ; corps colour "deep red" to army officials with general officer rank
- Senior-war court principal ; corps colour "light blue" to officials of the military judicial system
- Senior intendancy principal ; corps colour "carmine" to officials in staff appointments
- Remonte head official ; corps colour "yellow" to remonte officials
- Staff pharmacist ; corps colour "light green" to army officials of pharmaceuticals
- Army judicial inspector ; corps colour "light blue" to officials of the military judicial system
- Weapon master ; corps colour "black" to army officials of technical appointment ranks
- Store master ; corps colour "black" to army officials in technical appointment rank
