Maxwell Exsted


Maxwell Exsted is an American tennis player. He won the boys' doubles champions at the 2024 and 2025 Australian Open.
Exsted has a career-high singles ranking of No. 1,080 achieved on 22 December 2025 and a career-high doubles ranking of No. 352 achieved on 22 December 2025.

Early and personal life

From Savage, Minnesota, he started playing tennis at one year-old and by four years-old
had won his first junior tennis tournament, in Chicago. He relocated with father Chris and mother Jodi, to Miramar, Florida to train with private coach Courtney Scott as well as his USTA development coach Jon Glover at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. He has a brother Alex and a sister Isabelle who both played collegiate tennis.

Junior career

With Darwin Blanch and Jagger Leach, Maxwell was part of the American team which finished third at the 2023 Junior Davis Cup.
Maxwell won the final champion of the boys' doubles at the 2024 Australian Open alongside compatriot Cooper Woestendick. The pair also won the Traralgon Junior International doubles competition together in January 2024.
Exsted once again Maxwell won the final champion of the boys' doubles at the 2025 Australian Open, this time alongside Czech Jan Kumstát.

Professional career

Awarded a wildcard alongside compatriot Cooper Woestendick to the men's doubles at the 2025 US Open, they caused a shock upset win against experienced players David Goffin and Alexandre Muller in the first round. In the second round they were defeated in three sets by the British pair Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski.
