Margaret Tate

Margaret "Wootsie" Tate was a state legislator who served in the Mississippi House of Representatives and Mississippi Senate. She served in the house from 1984 to 1988 and in the senate from 1988 to 1992. A Democrat she lived in Picayune and represented Hancock County.
She was involved in insurance bills, legislation authorizing a landfill in Hancock County, and a mandatory seat belt law. She had a son and two daughters. In 2003, governor Ronnie Musgrove appointed her to the Mississippi Prison Industry Corporation.
