Mama's Pizza

Mama's Pizza is a restaurant chain founded in Fort Worth, Texas in 1968.

History

The restaurant was founded in 1968 by Ed Stebbins, a retired schoolteacher from Arlington, Texas. Stebbins wanted to serve thick-crust pizza similar to that made by his family, who were restaurateurs in Connecticut. It is known for serving thick-crust pizza with heavy toppings. Chris Farkas purchased the restaurant and opened a second location. Farkas, an alumnus of Texas Christian University, decorated the restaurants with TCU memorabilia. In the 1980s, the chain expanded to 18 restaurants, which later closed due to economic problems.
The chain was reduced to one restaurant, which was inherited by Farkas' godson Jordan Scott. As of 2023, it had expanded to 15 restaurants, including 11 franchised restaurants. It is one of the oldest restaurants in Fort Worth.
