Longchuan River
The Longchuan River is a main tributary of the Jinsha River, located in central Yunnan Province, China. The river begins at Laochanghe Reservoir. It flows east through Nanhua and Chuxiong City, then turns north into Luxi County and Yuanmou County, where it joins the Jinsha River near Jiangbian Township. The river is approximately 246 kilometers long and drains a watershed of about 9,240 square kilometers. Most of the basin consists of mountainous and hilly terrain, with an elevation drop of over 1,600 meters from source to mouth and an average riverbed gradient of 4.8%.
