Lola Marceli


Lola Marceli is a Spanish actress. She earned early public recognition in the 1990s for her performance as Mercedes in El súper.

Biography

Born in Alicante in 1967, she was raised in between Alicante and Málaga. She trained at the Málaga's Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático. Cast in 1996 in the soap opera El súper, her breakout performance as a self-sacrificing wife deceived by her husband consolidated her career. Her performance as a fiery Spanish woman scorned by her husband in the 2001 Australian comedy-drama film La Spagnola earned Marceli a nomination to the AFI Award for Best Leading Actress. She landed subsequent main cast roles in Hospital Central, Un chupete para ella, Amar es para siempre, Padres, SMS, Bandolera, Víctor Ros, and Mercado central.
