Locksgreen, Isle of Wight

Locksgreen is a hamlet on the Isle of Wight, in the civil parish of Calbourne, Newtown and Porchfield. There are 2 Grade II listed buildings in the hamlet, called Locks Green Dairy and Locks Farmhouse.
The hamlet borders a site of special scientific interest, the Newtown Harbour SSSI.

Name

The name derives from the surname Lokke, a family who possessed land there from the 14th century. Other names derived from the surname are Lokkesland, Lockesplace and Locks.
