Lagynochthonius asema

Lagynochthonius asema is a species of pseudoscorpion in the Chthoniidae family. It is endemic to Australia. It was described in 2008 by Australian arachnologists Karen Edward and Mark Harvey.

Distribution and habitat

The species occurs in the Pilbara region of North West Australia. The type locality is a borehole on Mesa K, near the iron-ore mining town of Pannawonica, some 1,400 km north of Perth.

Behaviour

The arachnids are cave-dwelling, terrestrial predators.
