Kwangtung Province, Republic of China
Kwangtung Province, commonly known as Kwangtung or Guangdong, is a de jure administrative division of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Since 1979, the Republic of China has not controlled any land it claims to be part of Kwangtung, due to Dongsha Island being transferred to Kaohsiung that year.
In 1949 Hainan was separated from Kwangtung Province as a special administrative region, but was abolished in 28 May 2003.
Kwangtung Province legally includes, since the departures of the British and Portuguese, Hong Kong and Macau, as the ROC claims them to this day.
