Geography

Most of the centre, east, and south of the locality is in the Wongi State Forest. The rest of the land use is predominantly grazing on native vegetation.
The Isis Highway enters the locaity from the north and exits to the north-west.
Palmers Hill is in the centre of the locality and rises to above sea level.

History

In 1877, of land were resumed from the Kullugum pastoral run to establish smaller farms. The land was offered for selection on 17 April 1877.
