Career

Waite first competed for Australia at the Swimming at the [2002 Commonwealth Games|2002 Commonwealth Games] in Manchester where she won bronze in the 2002 Commonwealth Games – [Women's">Swimming at the 2002 Commonwealth Games">2002 Commonwealth Games – [Women's 200 metre breaststroke|200 metre breaststroke] in 2:28.58 finishing behind fellow Australian Leisel Jones.
She competed in the 2002 [Pan Pacific Swimming Championships] in Yokohama, Japan, making the finals both the 2002 [Pan Pacific Swimming Championships – Women's 100 metre breaststroke|100] and 2002 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships – Women's [200 metre breaststroke|200 metre breaststroke] events.
