Jumart

A jumart or jumar is an alleged hybrid between cattle and a species of equine. Jumarts were once widely believed by Europeans to actually exist, and many people claimed to own or have encountered the animals. While they were discussed extensively in early scientific writings, such hybridization is now believed to be biologically impossible, and many "jumarts" examined by later researchers were alleged to be hinnies instead. The term is of French origin and most historical writings about supposed jumarts were in the French language.
