Josiah Mitchell Morse


Josiah Mitchell Morse was an American writer and literary critic. He was an English professor at Temple University in Philadelphia. He was a critic of African American vernacular English, writing in a book of his that "Black English is demoralized language, an idiom of fettered minds, the shuffling speech of slavery."
