Jim Scherr

James Edwin Scherr is a former American wrestler and former U.S. Olympic Committee CEO. He placed in three world wrestling championships taking bronze at 90 kg at the 1986 World Wrestling Championships, followed by a silver medal at the 1987 World Championship. He then competed in the men's freestyle 90 kg at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He repeated as silver medalist at 90 kg at the 1989 World Championships. His twin brother Bill Scherr was also an Olympian.
In 2002, he was inducted in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member.
