Jessica Faleiro
Jessica Faleiro is an Indian author and novelist from Goa. She is known for her books Afterlife: Ghost Stories from Goa and The Delicate Balance of Little Lives.
Career
Faleiro previously worked in advertising. Her first book, Afterlife: Ghost Stories from Goa, was published in 2014. It is a collection of 13 inter-linked ghost stories set in modern Goa.Her second book, The Delicate Balance of Little Lives, is a literary novel. The book explores the lives of four women in a Goan village and the family secrets that connect them.
Faleiro served as the editor for the creative writing anthology The Spaces In Between. Her work has also appeared in other anthologies, including Goa Remembered and Inside Out: New Writing from Goa.
In addition to her fiction, Faleiro is a creative writing mentor and conducts writing workshops. She also writes about travel, stating that it helps "unlock creativity," and maintained a blog called "The Faleiro Dynamic".
Personal life
Faleiro was born in Goa and brought up in Kuwait, in the Middle East. She studied at Nottingham University, Lancaster University and Kingston University, in the UK. She has lived and worked in various countries, including Kuwait, India, the USA, the United Kingdom and France.Works
