Janakpuri
Janak Puri is an affluent neighborhood in the South West district of Delhi, India. It is located near the Delhi Cantonment area and is accessible by road and Delhi Metro via multiple lines as well as train because of its nearest railway station at Delhi Cantonment.
Locality
Janak Puri was planned as the largest residential colony Asia in late 1960s and has a large number of parks in each pocket of the locality and is a well structured city. The Janak Puri District Park, in the middle of the Colony, is a managed green land-mass.It was built on the acquired lands of the Possangipur village.
The present geographical structure of the Janak Puri constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.
The main commercial centre is the Janak Puri District Centre, which houses regional offices of companies and firms as well as shops selling food, apparel, handicrafts and jewellery. A "crafts bazaar" within the complex sells handicrafts and home decor items.
Janak Puri is a part of the South West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency along with nine other Vidhan Sabha segments. Shri Ashish Sood is the Member of the Legislative Assembly in the 8th Delhi Assembly from Janak Puri Assembly constituency.
There are various religious places for worship in Janak Puri at A, B, C and D Block. Sanatan Dharam Mandir and Gurudwara are at Ram Mandir Marg as well as Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Arya Samaj Mandir, Gurudwara, Church are on the Dharam Marg.
Janak Puri is also popular for its weekly Saturday market which is one of the largest market organised on C4-B, C4-C, C4-D, C4-E, C4-F and C4-G as well as C3 Block on Ram Mandir Marg. It is a best place to visit and shopping.
In Janak Puri, C3 Block has Cinepolis Cinema Hall, earlier known as Janak Cinema and in the B Block District Center, it has Innox Janak Palace Cinema Hall. District Center has a shopping mall and near to it there is a Unity One Shopping Mall. There are various commercial offices in the District Center and Unity One Mall. These are best place to visit and shopping.
Hotels and restaurants are spread across Janak Puri. Hyatt Centric is near to Janak Puri West Metro Station.

Connectivity
Janak Puri is connected by the Outer Ring Road to parts of Northwest and North Delhi like Rohini, Pitampura, and Wazirabad through elevated corridors. Janak Puri's famous Pankha road connects Janak Puri to Uttam Nagar, Dwarka, Delhi Cantonment, Najafgarh, Palam. It has Vivekanand setu, which was named by our Leader Smt. Sushma Swaraj Ji to tribute Swami Vivekanand Ji. There is a way to connect Dwarka Express Way to reach Gurugram, Jaipur, Mumbai Express, Chandigarh.The Hari Nagar Delhi Transport Corporation Bus Depot is near to the Janak Puri.
The Delhi Metro has three metro stations in Janak Puri, one station each on the blue line and magenta line and one on both. In the third phase, Janak Puri got a new underground station, Dabri Mor metro station near the DDA Park in C2 Area, on the Magenta Line which has been opened for public on 29 May 2018. This corridor will have the first driverless train in Delhi Metro Network. Janak Puri West Metro Station has been expanded to accommodate the new Magenta Line. Janak Puri West Metro Station has India's highest escalator. It is 15.6 metres high and 35.3 metres long.
