Jacob Montgomery
Jacob H. Montgomery was a sharecropper and state legislator in North Carolina. He lived in Warrenton, North Carolina.
In 1880 a dissident convention of Warren County Republicans nominated Montgomery to run for a seat in the North Carolina House of Representatives, but he lost to a candidate nominated by the regular convention. He served in the North Carolina House of Representatives in 1883 and was then elected to the North Carolina Senate in 1884. He was African American.
