Izeh


Izeh is a city in the Central District of Izeh County, Khuzestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.
Izeh has mines of rocks and minerals. It is famous for its dam and ancient monuments that are located in Kul-e Farah, Eshkaft-e Salman, Khongazhdar, Tagh-e Tavileh, Shir-e Sangi, Shahsavar relief, Khong-e Kamalvand, Khong-e Azhdar, Khong-e Yaralivand, Ghalesard village, and Sheyvand relief.

Language

The majority of the population in Izeh speaks the Bakhtiari dialect of the Luri language.

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 103,695 in 20,127 households. The following census in 2011 counted 117,093 people in 27,084 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 119,399 people in 30,066 households.

Climate

Izeh has a Hot-summer Mediterranean climate with scorching, rainless summers and comfortable, somewhat wet winters with cold and often freezing mornings.
