Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration


The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration is a senior minister in the Government of Ireland and leads the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration. The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration has overall responsibility for law and order in Ireland.

History

From 1919 until 1924 the position was known as the Minister for Home Affairs. It was renamed as the Minister for Justice under the Ministers and Secretaries Act 1924. The title has been altered a number of times since 1997, with its current title dating from 2025.
