Irene Fellin
Irene Fellin is an Italian national who currently serves as the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security.
Biography
Fellin studied Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Parma, Italy and Museology at the Louvre in Paris, France. She received her master's degree from the Middle East Technical University.Fellin was a senior researcher at the Istituto Affari Internazionali where she focused on gender and security policy issues. In 2016, Fellin founded the Italian chapter of Women in International Security.
Fellin was named NATO Special Representative for Women, Peace, and Security in November 2021. Fellin's tenure as Special Represented has included special attention to women in combat following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
