InsideHook
InsideHook is an American lifestyle, news, culture, and entertainment website.
Origins
InsideHook began as a daily email lifestyle newsletter targeted at men, based in New York City. Entrepreneur Andy Russell was inspired by a similar email newsletter, DailyCandy, whose target demographic was young women.
Russell gathered $22 million in funds to start Trigger Media Group and its first startup, InsideHook, launched in 2012.
Investors
In 2017, investors in Trigger Media Group and InsideHook began to express doubts about Andy Russell's ability to run the company properly, despite Russell's refusal to collect a salary. Russell later stated that he understood the investors' concerns.
History
In 2013, actor Rob Lowe was the face of InsideHook L.A.'s curated email newsletter.
Critical reception
New York Daily News dubbed InsideHook, "A new free daily email service that provides "inspiration for driven men," adding, "Make no mistake about it, InsideHook knows what they’re talking about."
