Illorsuit IslandIllorsuit Island is an island in the Avannaata municipality in northwestern Greenland.GeographyThe island is pear-shaped, and at, it is the second-largest island in the Uummannaq Fjord system, located to the east of its mouth, between Sigguup Nunaa peninsula in the north and Nuussuaq Peninsula in the south.SettlementThe former settlement of Illorsuit was the only settlement on the island, located on its northeastern coast. The settlement was abandoned in 2018 following a severe tsunami in June 2017.
