History
The station opened on 1 May 1894 and was closed on 1 January 1917. It was reopened in 1919 and was closed to passengers on 14 February 1966.A newly built station opened on 12 April 1991 following the resumption of train services on the Paisley Canal Line, in 1990 by British Rail.
