Harrow International School New York
Harrow International School New York is an international school in Oakdale, New York, on Long Island, that is scheduled to open in 2025. It is a subsidiary of the Harrow School in the United Kingdom, and the first such one to open in the United States.
History
The New York State Board of Regents gave the school a provisional charter in February 2025. It is scheduled to open in September 2025. Initially it will have grades 6-10, and the school administration anticipated that the initial enrollment would be 80. Each subsequent year, a grade is to be added, until it covers grades 6-12. The planned ultimate enrollment size is around 400. The school's plan is to have day, five day boarding, and seven day boarding students.The first principal is Matthew Sipple. Harrow School sent an employee to familiarize Sipple with Harrow methods.
Josie Ensor of The Sunday Times stated that political issues under the second presidency of Donald Trump may affect the operations of the school and the ability to attract non-US boarding students.
