In 2018, a group of astronomers working as part of the HATSouth project announced the discovery of a massive planet or brown dwarf around this star, HATS-70b. This object's mass is close to the deuterium fusion limit, and the discovery paper refers to it as a brown dwarf. It is in a close orbit with a period of less than two days, with an obliquity of to the star's equator.
