H. J. Pearce
H. J. Pearce was an American psychologist. He was the founder of Brenau College, and served as its president from 1900 to 1943.
Early life
Haywood Jefferson Pearce was born in 1871. He received a PhD from a university in Germany in 1907.Career
Pearce purchased the Georgia Baptist Female Seminary in Gainesville, Georgia, in 1900 and renamed it Brenau College. He served as the president of the Southern Society for Philosophy and Psychology in 1914.Pearce acquired the Dare Stones in 1937 and believed they were real. However, he was discredited by 1941.
