Guicybaeus shanyii has only been recorded from Lipu in Guangxi, China.Etymology
The genus name is a combination of, the abbreviation of Guangxi, and related genus Cybaeus.The species name honors Shan-Yi Zhou, a Chinese ant entomologist born in Lipu City.
