Grus in Chinese astronomy

The modern constellation Grus lies across one of the quadrants symbolized by the Black Tortoise of the North, and The Southern Asterisms, that divide the sky in traditional Chinese uranography.
Constellation Grus in Chinese sky is not fully seen. Alnair and Tiaki are bright stars in this constellation that were possibly never seen in the Chinese sky.
The name of the western constellation in modern Chinese is 天鶴座, meaning "the heaven crane constellation".
