Grallaria


Grallaria is a large genus of Neotropical birds in the antpitta family Grallariidae.

Taxonomy

The genus was introduced by the French ornithologist Louis Pierre Vieillot in 1816 with the variegated antpitta as the type species. The genus name is from Neo-Latin grallarius meaning "stilt-walker".
