Georgia Griffith
Georgia Helen Griffith is an Australian middle-distance runner.
Early years
Griffith in her mid-teens decided to take her athletics seriously and commenced regular training. Just days after her 17th birthday she won the 2013 Australian All Schools Championships 800m gold medal in a time of 2:09.Achievements
Griffith has represented Australia at the:- 2014 [World Junior Championships in Athletics|2014 World Junior Championships] in Eugene in both the 2014 [World Junior Championships in Athletics – Women's 800 metres|800m] and 2014 World Junior Championships in Athletics – Women's [4 × 400 metres relay|4 × 400m relay]. She placed 4th in the 800m and made the finals in the relay
- 2017 World Championships in London in both the 2017 [World Championships in Athletics – Women's 800 metres|800m] and 1500m
- 2017 World University Games in Taipei in the 800m, where she came 4th
- 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in both the Athletics at the [2018 Commonwealth Games – Women's 800 metres|800m] and 1500m, where she came 5th in 1500m
- 2019 World University Games in Naples in the Athletics at the [2019 Summer Universiade – Women's 1500 metres|1500m], where she came 2nd
- 2019 Oceania Athletics Championships in the 1500m which she won
- 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha in the 2019 [World Athletics Championships – Women's 1500 metres|1500m] where she made the semi-finals
- 2020 Summer Olympics, held in 2021 in Tokyo, in the Athletics at the [2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 1500 metres|1500m]
- 2022 World Athletics Championships in the 1500m at which she was a finalist, finishing 9th
- 2022 Commonwealth Games in the 800m
- 2024 Summer Olympics in the 1500m where she was a semi-finalist
- 2024 Diamond League 1500m Final in which she finished 6th in a new pb
- 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in the 2025 [World Athletics Indoor Championships – Women's 1500 metres|1500 metres] in which she finished 4th in a new Area Record for the women's indoor 1500 metre event of 4:00.80.
