George Bruce (writer)


George Bruce was an American writer, best known for his screenplays for film and television. He started writing when nine years old and began writing professionally for magazines in 1920. Bruce was a hugely prolific and popular writer of books and stories for pulp magazines. At one stage he was earning $50,000 a year from the pulps.
Bruce started writing screenplays in the mid-1930s when he sold stories to Hollywood. He was a regular writer for producer Edward Small, particularly of swashbucklers.
He was married to actress Inez Torrens.
