Gauschla

The Gauschla is a mountain of the Appenzell Alps, located north of Sargans in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. It lies between the Walensee and the Alpine [Rhine Valley], and south-east of the Alvier. It is part of the Alvier chain, located southeast of the Churfirsten, together with the : Gamsberg, Fulfirst, Alvier and Gonzen, among others.
Just southeast of the Gauschla, and clearly seen from the Alpine Rhine Valley, is the Girrenspitz.
The Seilbahn Palfries, an aerial tram, links the Seez Valley with the Palfries high plateau below the Gauschla. The valley station is located between Flums and Mels.
