Frenchy Uhalt


Bernard Bartholomew "Frenchy" Uhalt was an American Major [League Baseball] outfielder. He played in 57 games for the Chicago [White Sox] in.
Uhalt was much better known, however, for his long career in the Pacific Coast League, where he played all or part of 20 seasons, between 1928 and 1948. In the PCL, he played for the Oakland Oaks, Hollywood Stars and San Francisco Seals. He also spent a season and a half with the American Association Milwaukee Brewers (minor [league baseball team)|Milwaukee Brewers]. In 1949, he served as player-manager for the Fresno Cardinals.
Overall, Uhalt had over 3,000 hits in the minors, with a batting average of.300. He is a member of the Pacific [Coast League Hall of Fame].
