Frank Spaniel


Francis James Spaniel Jr. was an American professional football halfback in the National Football League for the Baltimore Colts and the Washington Redskins. He played college football at the University of Notre Dame and was drafted in the fifth round of the 1950 NFL draft.

College career

In his senior season at Notre Dame, Spaniel amassed 496 yards and 6.2 yards per carry as he helped the Fighting Irish football|Fighting Irish] win the 1949 NCAA [Division I-A national football championship|national championship].
