Fire (Scotland) Act 2005
The Fire Act 2005 is an Act of the Scottish Parliament which made certain reforms to fire and rescue services in Scotland.
During the passage of the bill, the Scottish Executive published a draft fire and rescue framework.
Provisions
The act makes dealing with some road traffic accidents and dealing with serious non-fire emergencies a statutory duty of fire and rescue services.The act allows for more local decision making.
The bill for this act was passed on 23 February 2005 and received royal assent on 1 April 2005.
