Field specification
A field specification or fspec defines a portion of a word in some programming language. It has the form "" where "L" is the leftmost byte and "R" is the rightmost byte, and counting begins at zero. For example, the first three bytes of a word would have the fspec for bytes numbered 0, 1, and 2.
