Emma Nolde


Emma Maestrelli, known professionally as Emma Nolde, is an Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Early life and education

Born in 2000 in San Miniato and residing in the hamlet of La Scala, she grew up in Empoli with her sisters Marta and Amelia. At the age of thirteen, she began playing and singing Coldplay and Ed Sheeran covers in clubs and bars. After studying classical guitar in middle school, at the age of fifteen she began writing her first songs in English and later also in Italian.
After graduating from high school, she studied at the conservatory and took private lessons focusing on jazz, rock and pop. She chose the pen name "Nolde", inspired by the Danish painter Emil Nolde.

Career

2020–2021: ''Toccaterra''

On 26 June 2020 she released her first official single "". The single "Nero ardesia" followed on 24 July a song she used to participate in the RockContest the previous year, where she placed second and won the Ernesto De Pascale Award for Best Song with Italian Lyrics.
On 3 September 2020 she released her debut album, Toccaterra, on Woodworm and Polydor. It contains eight tracks, including the two previous singles and the single "Berlino". The album was a finalist for the Tenco awards for best album in the "First Work" category. On 7 May 2021, the single "Embers" by Alessandro Baris, on which she collaborated, was released. The Toccaterra tour took place from 6 June to 30 September, with twenty-nine dates from Milan to Turin. On 22 October, the single "Un mazzo di chiave, un ombrello, lì in mezzo" featuring Generic Animal was released.

2022–2023: ''Respiro''

On 3 June 2022, the single "Respiro" was released, while from 7 June to 26 August for fifteen dates from Cagliari to Capodarco, she was busy with the summer tour La stessa altezza tour. On 9 September the single "La stessa parte della luna" was released, which preceded her second studio album "Dormi", released on 30 September and containing ten tracks.
From 4 November to 23 December 2022 she was busy with the Dormi tour, an eight-date club tour from Livorno to Ravenna. That same year, she won the New Generation award at the Bindi Awards. On 13 January 2023, the single "Spazzolino" by Nico Arezzo, on which she collaborated, was released.

2024–present: ''Nuovospaziotempo''

In 2024 he signed a new recording contract with Carosello Records, with which he released the single "Mai fermi" on 5 June, followed on 27 September by the single "Tuttoscorre". On 18 November it was the turn of the single "Pianopiano!", which together with the two previous songs anticipated his third studio album Nuovospaziotempo, released on 8 November and containing twelve tracks, including the single "Sconosciuti". The album was classified among the finalists of the Tenco awards for best album.
From 29 November 2024 to 22 March 2025, she performed the Nuovospaziotempo tour, with fifteen dates from Livorno to Palermo. Her summer tour took place from 24 May to 21 August with fourteen dates from Milan to Roseto degli Abruzzi. The single "Indipendente" was released on 4 June 2025. In November, one year after the release of the album Nuovospaziotempo, she released the live version of the single "Sirene" with Brunori Sas. On 21 November the single "Quello che deve essere sarà" was released. On 26 November she won the Artist of the Year award at the Billboard Italia Women in Music event, held at the UFO Milano event space.
