El Color de los Sueños
El Color de los Sueños is the third studio album by Mexican singer Fey. It was released in 3 November 1998 by Sony Music Entertainment Mexico.
Background and release
Sony Mexico issued the album in four distinct 3D editions, each distinguished by a unique color scheme. The artist’s new visual style for this release draws inspiration from elements of Indian culture. The album was relatively less commercially successful than Fey's previous release, Tierna la noche, a decline that is often attributed to the controversies surrounding the artist at the time. Media speculation about Fey's age, marital status, and religious beliefs became widespread, and her management faced criticism for allegedly attempting to shape her image into that of a "diva". Around this period, Fey unexpectedly announced her retirement from the music industry. In later interviews, she attributed this decision to the heavy workload imposed by her then-manager and boyfriend, Mauri Stern.Despite these controversies, the album reached number-one in Mexico, and several of its singles achieved high chart positions. It also inspired a successful international tour of the same name. To date, the album has sold over two million copies worldwide.
