Dysoxylum brachybotrys


Dysoxylum brachybotrys is a species of tree in the family Meliaceae. The specific epithet brachybotrys is from the Greek meaning 'short bunch', referring to the inflorescence.

Description

The tree grows up to tall with a trunk diameter of up to. The flowers are cream-coloured. The fruits are red when ripe, pear-shaped, up to long.

Distribution and habitat

Dysoxylum brachybotrys is native to Borneo and the southern Philippines. Its habitat is forests from sea-level to elevation.
