Dillwynia crispii is an erect, single-stemmed shrub that typically grows to a height of with silky hairs between prominent leaf scars. The leaves are more or less erect, linear, sometimes triangular in cross-section, long with a longitudinal groove on the uppersurface. The flowers are usually arranged in pairs in leaf axils on a peduncle long with bracts and bracteoles long. The sepals are pinkish or reddish, long and glabrous and the standard petal is long and yellow with red markings.
