Dhaka-8 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad of Bangladesh. Since 6 August 2024, the constituency remains vacant.

Boundaries

The constituency encompasses wards 8 (Dhaka [South City">Ward No. 8 (Dhaka South City Corporation)">8 (Dhaka [South City Corporation)|8] through 13 (Dhaka South City Corporation)|13], as well as wards 19 (Dhaka South City Corporation)|19] through 21 (Dhaka South City Corporation)|21] of Dhaka South City Corporation, integrating these wards within a single administrative and electoral boundary.

History

The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973.
Ahead of the 2008 general election, the Election Commission redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the 2001 Bangladesh census. The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.
