Garcia, who was not interested in going to college, decided in her senior year of high school to become a model and signed with an agency in New York; she began her career modeling consistently for Victoria's Secret as a plus-size model. She also modeled in campaigns for Nordstrom and H&M, and on the runway for Brandon Maxwell, Altuzarra, Chloé, and Jacquemus. She appeared on covers for Vogue España, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, i-D, Porter, Harper's Bazaar among others.
