In the new classification of the family Conidae by Puillandre N., Duda T.F., Meyer C., Olivera B.M. & Bouchet P., Dendroconus has become a subgenus of Conus: Conus Tucker & Tenorio, 2013 represented as Conus Linnaeus, 1758
